Freedom is paramount.
The Deity of Chaos and Mischief, Leyutan, teaches those defined by freedom, the ones who decide their own fate, the ones who challenge authority, the ones who follow because they want to and not have to, that patterns create a tapestry of possibilities whose subtleties point to the direction to answers that are sought after.
The faithful of Leyutan have visions and dreams of a large indiscernible three-headed beast. The heads of the beast often appear canine, sometimes feline, every so often bird-like, and occasionally they appear as all three. These visions often show the importance of being unpredictable, of being free to make your own choices, of growth through trying new things, and even of mischievousness. From time to time these dreams have shown a
law being challenged when too rigid, a joke being played to teach humility, or an ability being used in a way never thought of.
Leyutan teaches that chaos is the natural way of the world and if we do not prepare ourselves for the chaos and learn from it we will not survive. They learn to see the patterns within life and see what others assume is chaotic. The faithful watch the patterns of people, predators, and prey. What causes them to fail and what can be used in their favor. For example, the stories they tell of when the first rebuilt civilization tried to follow old patterns that failed and garnered the attention of the Void and other terrible predators to tear everyone and everything apart. Leyutan’s faithful have learned from these failings and how to rebuild civilization using new patterns.
The faithful look to create new ideas and new opportunities because they believe stagnation leads to death. They challenge order and pre-established beliefs. This challenge is necessary for growth. It can be as mundane as challenging oneself to sneak up behind someone for a prank or more difficult such as finding a new path through unknown territory. The new world is harsh and you must learn to adapt and survive quickly.
The Faithful of Leyutan greatly value their freedom. They will not allow the yoke of others to take away their freedoms by imposed laws or force. Some societies have learned to embrace the faithful of Leyutan such as the Goblins of the Sundered Tribes. They are valued for their ability to see what those who are trapped in patterns cannot, and the ability to deploy chaos with great skill. People may not like what they hear from the faithful of Leyutan even at times calling them mad. However, their ability to challenge the thoughts and beliefs of many has helped bring allies together, including the strange and unusual.
