The Deity of Death and Destruction, Gaernac, is indifferent to mercy and cruelty as they teach there is nothing and no one so valuable to the world that cannot be destroyed to make way for another. Death and Destruction are necessary to make way for new creations and life. The faithful of Gaernac have visions and dreams of various spirits leading them past different structures crumbling or being destroyed by different means. Other times they will walk past various broken bones and corpses in different stages of decay. The faithful may see a person die painfully then be raised as a skeleton or an old person die peacefully in their sleep and turn into dust that is blown away.
The world is full of death. The Faithful of Gaernac do not wish to cause death and destruction for the sake of death and destruction. They seek for people to understand all of its stages and necessity. They help people accept death. It is better for people to accept it and move on then waste time and resources lest they join the dead themselves. They can be compassionate in their lessons. They understand it is not easy or simple during times of great emotional stress for people to make the harder decision that may provide a better future.
Gaernac has given the faithful power over death and spirit that follow the natural order. If someone kills another, including the Fey killing a Fell with arcane spells or a sword, they will still become a corpse that returns to the earth subject to rot and decay and food for the scavengers and worms. The flesh of a person is not worth more than any other life. This is unlike the Void that only consumes and corrupts leaving no new growth in their wake.
To the faithful of Gaernac, Death is not the end but a means to more resources. A life was had, it was over and then a corpse was made. The corpse being animated is making use of materials. When the undead can no longer be sustained it will still supply resources. Use what can be used. They also see the spirit as another component from the dead to be used as they see fit. They understand its usefulness because they understand all components released from the destruction of life. The faithful understand the dead and dying of living creatures as well as lifespan of created objects. They know when what can be salvaged and what should be left to the dirt.
